The area of Prague 3 requires a parking permit.
; the parking permit allows Prague 3 inhabitants (residents), companies and traders who conduct their business here (subscribers) to park in the Paid Parking Zone (PPZ) indefinitely for a flat fee.
Issuing a parking permit does not entitle you to a parking space.
Operating hours
The operating hours for the entire Paid Parking Zone in Prague 3 are from Sunday 5 p.m. to Friday 5 p.m. Parking in the zone is free of charge outside the operating hours and from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m.
Blue zone
Only people with a valid parking permit can park in the blue zone, reserved for residents and subscribers, without restrictions. Visitors can also use it, but for a maximum of 3 hours, after payment via the Virtual Parking Meter application. There are no parking meters in the blue zone.
Purple zone
The purple zone is designed for the so-called mixed parking. People with a valid parking permit park in the purple zone without restrictions. Visitors can park here for a maximum of 24 hours, after payment in a parking meter or via the Virtual Parking Meter application.

This parking sign marks so-called mixed parking, purple zone, where both, residents and visitors can park.
You can pay your parking via an application :

The parking automat is typically at places in visitors or mixed zones, so you don’t have to deal with the online application and you can pay your parking directly on the street where you are.
Parking Garages:
Žižkov and the surrounding areas offer several parking garages, which can be a more secure and convenient option, especially for longer stays. Here are a few examples:
- Tower Park – Mahlerovy sady: Located directly under the Žižkov Television Tower. It offers 24/7 access and is close to public transport (Jiřího z Poděbrad metro and tram stop). Online reservation is possible.
- Cimburkova 7: A courtyard parking garage near the historical center and the main train station. Access is via phone call after online reservation.
- Olšanská (Aprecoparking): An automated outdoor parking lot with 24/7 operation and camera surveillance. It’s within walking distance of the Olšanská tram stop. Reservation is possible via the Myparking.io portal.
- Italska Street: A guarded car park open Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. All-day parking is available for a fee, and free parking may be possible outside operating hours.
- Strážní Garage (Mr. Parkit): Located off Koněvova Street, close to the number 9 tram stop. It’s a 24/7 garage within an industrial space, requiring online reservation and payment.
- Hotel Olšanka: Offers underground parking with hourly and daily rates.

Important Considerations:
- Markings: Pay close attention to the color of the lines on the road and the traffic signs. Blue lines indicate resident parking, purple lines mixed parking, and orange lines short-term visitor parking. Yellow lines usually mean no parking.
- Virtual Parking Meter (VPM): This mobile application is crucial for paying for short-term parking, especially in blue zones.
- Parking Permits: If you plan to park regularly in Žižkov and are eligible, obtaining a parking permit can be significantly more convenient and cost-effective. You can arrange this at the Prague 3 District Office.
- Traffic: Žižkov can be quite busy, and finding a free parking spot, especially during peak hours, can be challenging. Parking garages might be a better option if you need guaranteed parking.
- Electric Vehicles: As of December 2024, electric vehicles with EL license plates can park for free in paid parking zones until June 30, 2025
